Black & White Boob Tube

The Three Stooges Minisode – Beer Barrel Polecats

Big Byrd TV went to hell or wherever TVs go when they die recently…so while debating what to do about new Tube of Boob for the nest, I had to shuffle TVs around the house…took TV from teenager sanctuary room and put in living room…decided to leave bedroom TV in bedroom instead of moving to teenager sanctuary…had old color tv in attic I was going to put in it…did not work…decided to have kids endure the trusty old tube b/w TV that I have had for I don’t even know how long…it still works…freaky watching b/w TV…it takes a minute to warm up…surprisingly no complaints from the teenagers…it got me thinking about growing up B-lo in the 70s and the joys of WUTV in its early days.

Cable wasn’t the norm back then so we basically had channels 2, 4, 7, 17, & 29…we had a nice antenna which allowed us to receive Canadian channels 5 & 11 out of Toronto…our second TV at the time has a 12 inch b/w.

This is where I discovered the joys of early UHF via channel 29 WUTV…The Three Stooges, Gilligan’s Island, Bewitched, The Little Rascals, Godzilla movies and every other old rerun, old cartoon or old movie you could imagine.  It is amazing how TV has changed in the last 30 years.
