Yankees be damned

I figured the Yankees would end up with at least one big free agent picther this off-season, but they scored two.

From Newsday

The Yankees had to commit $243.5 million to Sabathia and Burnett to sign them. But they have never been stingy about spending money, and this isn’t the year they plan to change that. Not after missing the playoffs following 13 straight postseason appearances and with their new stadium ready to increase revenue.

I wish MLB would create two new leagues…two tiers…one for teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, etc. and one for teams like the Pirates, Royals, etc.

Teams without the revenue streams of the big boys will rarely or ever be able to compete.

It is a joke…
