Ladies and Gentlemen…the race for the mayor of Buffalo just got a heck of a lot more interesting

With allegations hitting the local news media over the weekend that Byron Brown intervened after Leonard Stokes got busted by the Buffalo Police for using a stolen handicapped tag, the mayoral race, which is essentially the primary next week between Byron Brown and Mickey Kearns, has been turned upside down.

Factor in today’s WGRZ/SurveyUSA poll which has the Mayoral race virtually tied and Byron Brown’s uncharacteristic tirade at the media today, you get the sense that things are imploding in city hall for the Brown administration.

The tirade…

I have never ever ever never seen Byron Brown act like this…he is about as even tempered of a politician as you will ever find.

This is the audio from the Buffalo News…I first caught a glimpse on the evening news.  WOW…

You have to admit that whatever powers out there who want Byron Brown gone waited to the last minute to unleash this salvo at him…dirty politics, yes, but that is the name of the game and all sides play it.

This is shaping up to be the biggest local political story of the year.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what the primary bring next week…what happens between now and then is going to be interesting to say the least.

  1. I wonder if there are any other bombshells about Byron that will soon come out?

Politics are dirty but what if the allegations aren’t true?
