Mair

by Christopher Byrd | November 10th, 2009

I was surprised when the news came down that Adam Mair was placed on waivers. Frankly, I like players like Mair…gritty…work hard…etc…not the most talented player around, but what he lacks in talent he makes up in effort.

The feeling I got from Darcy Regier’s interview above is that the Sabres are happy with the horses they got in terms of gritty players and they just want to give Mair an op to move on. I think key is to this move though is the play of Tim Kennedy…it made Mair expendable. Kennedy is younger and has a bit more to his game than Mair.

Looks like his Sabre days are numbered…I’ll miss him when he is gone.

I was surprised by the news too. Hopefully he lands somewhere where he’ll get more playing time.
