The threat is still there

The threat is still there…

I am sure more will come out over the coming days detailing exactly who Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab is and where he falls in the food chain as far as al-Qaida is concerned, but whatever the scenario turns out to be, it is just bleep’n scary.

Luckily, this terrorist didn’t do anything more than severely hurt himself.  It does make you wonder how many other people like him are out there.

The good thing is that passengers were alert enough to aid in subduing him.

The bad thing is that this event underscores terrorists are still trying to find ways to destroy U.S. airplanes and this incident was only a failed detonator away from being a disaster.

I am continuously amazed that after 9/11 we haven’t seen a large scale terrorist attack here.  Is it only a matter of time?  My guess is yes.
