The fighting is not over in Iraq

From Barack Obama’s address to the nation on 08/31/2010

“So tonight, I am announcing that the American combat mission in Iraq has ended.  Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country.”

Though I understood the need for the Obama administration to have an official end to combat operations in Iraq, American military is still heavily involved…50,000 American troops remain in country…special op forces continue to be engaged in military operations that aren’t technically classified as combat. Make know mistake though, the fighting will continue.

As the full pull out approaches at the end of 2011, I wonder what will happen in Iraq.  There is part of me that thinks the country is just going to come apart at the seems when we leave entirely.
