The title of this post comes from a quote in today’s Buffalo News by Blair Horner, legislative director of the New York Public Interest Research Group in an article called Following the Cuomo money trail.
The article outlines who are some of the biggest donors to Andrew Cuomo’s $25mil war chest in his quest to be the next top person in the state.
Honestly, I don’t care who donated the money. What concerns me is the $25mil dollar figure and some of the large donations comprising the overall amount. You would have to be foolish to believe that these large donation don’t buy some type of influence over Cuomo…this is just wrong.
Where does that leave normal people whose only contribution to the Cuomo campaign will their vote on 11/02? It leaves them having little influence over anything.
The true architects who will guide and shape a lot of Cuomo’s policy will the big money special interest groups and supporters of his.
Money not only flows to power, it also buys influence.
Time and time again…the normal everyday average person is left behind after the election is over.
