Byrd Politics 2011

Don’t know what it is with me and politics lately.

I had every intention to watch the Collins and Poloncarz debate tonight with a keen eye on both and how they presented the issues.

As I have done in the recent past, I also made my way over to Twitter to see what local tweeple were saying about the debate.

What ended up happening is that I lost interest in about 5 minutes.

It is not that I don’t care…cuz I do.  And as important as the upcoming Erie County Executive race is, I just saw two guys on stage who seemed disconnected from me as a voter.

Maybe it is political fatigue.  Could it be that the never ending flow of political info, opinion and news in the information age has made me dead to the process?  I think that is part of it.  But I also think I have lost faith in people running for office.

As for Twitter, most of the tweets I read were just cheer leading for one side or the other.  That gets boring quickly.

This is post is just a broad statement as to where I am politically in 2011.

  1. But Mark is the KING OF TEH INTERWEBS!

Don’t particularly like either one. I usually go for the underdog (Poloncarz) and he seems bright enough. But despite Collins’ draconian approach to everything I think he has done a lot of things right.
