Buffalo beats Canada for the week

This is no knock on Canada. I love our neighbours across the Niagara River, but it was nice to see the Sabres sweep a couple of our longtime Canadian rivals this week.

Tonight’s 3-1 defeat of the Maple Leafs was not a thing of beauty, but the Sabres keep rolling along picking up points.

During the second intermission, I tuned into WGR to hear what they were saying about the game…I don’t remember if it was Paul Hamilton or Brad Riter who said that Drew Stafford is making a strong case to be an active part of the playoff roster.  I couldn’t agree more.  The kid has really shined in the wake of all the injuries.

Despite all the injuries, the Sabres took over first place in the NHL again tonight from the Predators.  Buffalo has 91 points…are 8-1-1 in their last ten…

Scary good…

Kevin from BfloBlog.com has a recap up…he writes about Miller’s inability to hang on for a shoutout…I thought about the same thing when Antropov of the Leafs put one past Miller with about five minutes left in the game.  What is up with that?

Here are all the Sabres goals…

They are off until Wednesday when the Colorado Avalanche come to town.
